Journal Writing on Colonial America
Directions: Pretend you are a British journalist who has just spent a year living in colonial America. You kept a journal to be published so that the British will have an accurate view of life in colonial America. Use the information from your notes and the textbook to create an illustrated journal as follows:
• Make a title
• Date each entry
• You need 5 entries that discuss at least 2 aspects of colonial life per entry.
Include well-chosen details in the narrative to make the journal more realistic. Use your imagination.
• Each journal entry should be at least 4 sentences.
• Remember, you are writing for people who have never been to America, you want to give them a mental picture of what life is like in the colonies.
• Proofread your writing for grammatical and spelling errors.
